Michael is a joint General-Secretary for CLEA, along with Patricia McKellar.
At his home institution , Glasgow Caledonian University, Michael teaches a range of topics including criminal law, evidence, medical law, forensic psychology, and forensic science.
He was recently seconded to the Higher Education Academy as the UK discipline lead for law. This role involved coordinating funding, providing resources and arranging events to promote best practice in legal education within the UK.
His website lists a variety of interests in learning and teaching activities, ranging from online learning to student engagement projects, and details conference papers and other publications.
He is also a member of the Society of Legal Scholars, the Association of Law Teachers and the British and Irish Law, Education and Technology Association.
